product description

Electrically dissipative floors have a safety-relevant function. In the fields of electronics, pyrotechnics, chemistry and medicine, dissipative flooring is the key factor in dissipating electrostatic charges.

Whether a completed ESD floor has the required specifications cannot be determined merely with a visual inspection. An acceptance test provides both contractor and principal the assurance that the floor’s electrical characteristics comply with the agreed specifications or applicable standards.

Resistance-to-ground and system measurements, combined with walking tests (body potential measurement) are the standard measurement methods today. They allow risks to be identified and any hazard potential to be clearly assessed.

Floor measurements and inspections can be carried out according to the following standards:
  • Resistance to ground measurements according to IEC 61340-4-1 or ANSI/ESD STM7.1
  • System resistance measurements according to IEC 61340-4-5 or ANSI/ESD STM97.1
  • Walking test according to IEC 61340-4-5 or ANSI/ESD STM97.2
  • Measurements with three-point electrode according to EN 1081
  • Measurements in explosion-protected areas according IEC 60079-32-2
Finally, you receive the following documents:
  • Inspection report
  • Certificate of conformity

Further services for dissipative floors

Installing an electrically dissipative floor is a major investment. Depending on its intended use, the flooring requirements must be clearly defined. Too often, floor specifications fall short of requirements due to lacking know-how.
The consequences are legal conflicts and additional consultations, work and costs.

We offer the following consulting services:

  • Identifying and drawing up the requirements profile
  • Drawing up binding tender specifications according to standards specifications
  • Testing sample surfaces
